Santa Fe, NM

Impromptu Trip

Why? Because my creative mind needed to be feed and inspired

Where better to visit than Santa Fe NM

Santa Fe is known for its historical landmarks, architecture, and art

Located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain the scenery is breath taking.

The climate was close to perfect it was 78°F rained off and on (I love the rain; I love how clean and lush the vegetation gets) when we arrived but that didn’t stop us from exploring the city.

We started with the Arts Festival one word to sum up what we saw is  “Wow”

The details: color, design, placement of the hand-crafted products make it a one-of-a-kind mosaic.

Architecture - The Adobe Pueblo architecture is very impressive. The earth tones and shapes just fit perfectly with the natural scenic backdrop.

When the Sun started to set in the horizon – Breathtaking!!!

We didn’t go wrong with choosing Santa Fe, NM for our destination.

Slade, KY Natural Bridge

While planning a trip to visit our son in Ohio there were a few places that were suggested as “places to visit”

One that caught my eye was Slade, KY it had great options for outdoor adventure. We had limited time so this would have to be a short stop, but we wanted to explore to see if this would be a great location for our next travel destination.

Michael gave me the task of choosing where to stop, I chose to visit the Natural bridge for this trip.

Natural Bridge Information

Coordinates: 37.772584°N, -83.6843577°W
Approx. Elevation: 1,280 feet (390 meters)
USGS Map Area: Slade
Feature Type: Arch

The hike, i was not prepared for, was a mile from where we found parking.

Thru a muddy path with downed trees

Thru a swinging wooden bridge

Thru wooden stairs

Thru limestone and sand makeshift steep stair case path

In a hot humid day. 89°F per my phone app, but it sure felt warmer.

The saving grace was the beautiful canopy of tall trees, lush vegetation with moss, ferns, and a natural spring (clear cold water)

The scenery was magical and good distraction for me from the steep climb to the top to see the Natural Bridge formation.

The view was worth all the sweating and gasping for air I did on my way to top.

Will I do it again?

Sure, but definitely after I have properly prep myself for the breathing and leg work needed for another Trek.

Bentonville, AR

We decided to go for a cycling weekend trip.

Let me start by saying I am not a cyclist, I hop on my bike once in a while. My husband on the other has put on plenty of miles including cycling rides for charity.

Our weekend trip was Amazing. Bentonville is a beautiful and very cyclist friendly town. The trails were pretty and we even found a herd (bevy) of Deer grazing at the meadow. Its a must visit town.

Until next time Bentenville,AR

Noel, MO Cave adventure

I love how mystical it is.

Arthur Browning discovered the cave in 1925 and opened it to the public 1927. The Browning family still owns and run the cave till this day.

Bluff Dwellers Cave is located in Noel, MO and is part of the Ozarks. Our tour guide told us that artifacts found in the cave are grinding stones, arrowheads, a bed of ashes and a few skeletal remains from the Archaic native American culture.

He told us the cave got closed/sealed in by a landslide. Artifacts got preserved and remained untouched till the discovery and reopening in 1925.

New Orleans

New Orleans, "Big Easy"

Where music, food, beer and liquor offered round the clock.

We got in late in the evening but that didn’t stop us from having fun.

we started with food.

Then we walked around for a bit

Ended the night with a few of the cities specialty drinks

As always NOLA’s night scene did not disappoint and we had a great time.

Last stop before we head out Cafe Du Monde

Until next time New Orleans.

Oklahoma weekend drive

Sometimes after a busy weekday we just need to recharge.

Best way to do that is to take a drive thru scenic routes, listen to your favorite music and enjoy the beauty nature has to offers.

On this trip we chose to drive down Rt 92 and saw bountiful farms, fresh fruit and vegetable stands, horses and sunflower fields.

Sedona

What a place. We loved everything about this picturesque town.

The view is breathtaking, towns people were great, art galleries did not disappoint and we found a couple of quaint coffee shops.

I cant wait to go back for a visit

Enjoy the photos I took at the Red Rock scenic byway

St Louis

St Louis a city Michael and I have visited, driven by and been at for business meetings and conventions but never really explored together.

This past road trip we happened to arrive at the St. Louis area just in time to watch the sunrise.

We decided that the best place to do so was at the riverfront. It was a good decision. The view was spectacular.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you enjoyed the photos  we shared

in Marblehead, OH

We visited the local shops,  ate the  "world famous chili dog" at Netty's and visited the Marble head lighthouse
